Send To Self ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our iOS bookmark management application ("App"). Our App is designed with privacy as a core principle—we do not collect, store, or access your personal data on external servers. The App features a beautiful chat-style interface for organizing bookmarks and offers both free and premium tiers.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
Send To Self is designed to operate without collecting your personal information. We do not:
- Collect or store your bookmarks, notes, or categories
- Track your browsing patterns or bookmark behavior
- Store your device information or identifiers
- Access your browsing history or personal data
- Use third-party analytics or tracking services
- Create user accounts or profiles
- Share data with advertisers or third parties
3. How the App Works
Send To Self uses CloudKit and your personal iCloud account for data storage and synchronization. When you save bookmarks:
- All data is stored in YOUR personal iCloud private database using CloudKit
- Synchronization happens directly through Apple's CloudKit service
- We never have access to your iCloud data or bookmark content
- All communications are encrypted by Apple's infrastructure
- Data remains within Apple's secure ecosystem at all times
- Link preview metadata is fetched directly by your device, not stored on our servers
4. App Store Information
When you download Send To Self from the Apple App Store, Apple may collect certain information as part of their standard app distribution process. This information is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours. We do not have access to or control over this information.
5. Device Permissions
Send To Self may request certain device permissions to function properly:
- Network Access: Required to sync with CloudKit/iCloud and fetch link previews and metadata
- Notifications: Optional permission to send local reminders about bookmarks you've set reminders for
- iCloud: Automatic access to your iCloud private database for bookmark synchronization via CloudKit
- Biometric Authentication: Face ID/Touch ID/Passcode for accessing private categories (Premium feature)
These permissions are used solely for the App's core functionality. Network access is only used for CloudKit/iCloud sync and fetching link preview metadata directly from source websites - never to collect or transmit your personal information to our servers.
6. Data Security
Your bookmark data is protected by Apple's enterprise-grade security infrastructure:
- All data is encrypted both in transit and at rest in iCloud
- CloudKit uses end-to-end encryption for your personal data
- No permanent storage of your content on our servers
- Apple's two-factor authentication protects your iCloud account
- App Groups sandboxing isolates your data from other apps
- Biometric authentication (Face ID/Touch ID/Passcode) secures private categories locally on your device
7. Children's Privacy
Our App does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since we don't collect data, there are no special considerations needed for children's privacy beyond our standard privacy practices.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Since we don't collect contact information, we recommend checking this page periodically for updates.
9. Premium Features and Payments
The App offers optional premium features through a one-time in-app purchase. All payment processing is handled by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store any payment information. Apple may collect purchase information according to their privacy policy. Premium features include unlimited custom categories and private categories secured with biometric authentication.
10. Third-Party Services
Send To Self does not integrate with or use any third-party services that would collect your data. The App operates independently without external dependencies that could compromise your privacy. Link previews are fetched directly from source websites using standard web protocols.
11. Contact Us
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or our privacy practices, please contact us through our Contact page.
12. Your Rights
Since we don't collect or store your personal data, traditional data rights (such as access, deletion, or portability) don't apply in the typical sense. Your data remains entirely under your control in your iCloud account. You can delete bookmarks within the App, uninstall the App at any time, or manage your iCloud data through Apple's services. Your bookmark data will persist in your iCloud account and can be restored if you reinstall the App.
